Let's Learn About Dr. Baltazar Corcino, M.D.!

Hi! My name is Dr. Baltazar Corcino, M.D.! I have a deep passion for medicine and serving the Clearfield community. In fact, I came to the area in 1971 and have worked here ever since.

I was born and raised in the Philippines and I graduated from medical school at the University of Santo Tomas in March of 1963. In 1964, I moved to the United States where I completed a second internship at Norristown Montgomery Hospital for 6 months and then to Elizabeth General Hospital in New Jersey for a year. Afterwards, I headed to Canada to complete my residency in a VA Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba from 1966 to 1967. When I returned to the United States, I found myself in New Jersey again where I worked at Bergen Pines Hospital. It was during this time that I met my future wife, Judy, who was a student nurse. Together we have four children: Melissa, Jeff, Kevin and Stephanie. After finishing my residency, my wife and I came right to Clearfield where I began working as a physician in the Clearfield Hospital in July of 1971. In fact, I was Clearfield Hospital’s First Emergency Room Physician!

Following my time at Clearfield Hospital, I began working with Dr. Leonard Schickling and Dr. John Covella to launch the Clearfield Professional Group in 1988. I was with this group until 2005 where I again worked for Clearfield Hospital at their clinic in Philipsburg for two years and then their Mahaffey Clinic for another two years before returning to Clearfield Hospital Medical Arts Building. In 2015, Penn Highlands took over Clearfield Hospital and I worked for them before heading to the clinic.

I began working at Susquehanna Wellness Clinic in November 2020 and just love working with the staff here. My passion for people is what keeps me working in the field and I am so eager to continue welcoming new patients to the clinic!
